About

I am a native Austinite, wife, daughter, sister, and proud mother of two children. I arrived in the world of counseling via my work as an acupuncturist for almost 15 years. Day in and day out in my acupuncture practice, I saw firsthand how deeply our emotional lives impact our physical bodies. Clients would come in for chronic pain, illness, or fatigue, and as we worked together, it often became clear how much unexpressed stress, grief, or trauma their nervous systems were quietly carrying. I am now a graduate student at St. Edward’s University receiving my Master of Arts in Counseling and am passionate about helping others get to know themselves through depth-oriented psychotherapy.

I hold a BA in Psychology, Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM), and am trained at the Intermediate level in Somatic Experiencing (SE) therapy, a body-oriented trauma therapy designed to foster regulation of the nervous system and release stress. My approach to therapy is very warm and relational, integrating experiential techniques like SE, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and bottom-up approaches that can move one beyond just talking about an issue, so you can actually feel and practice new ways of being in real time. I incorporate creativity, humor, and curiosity in my sessions to foster a relaxed, judgement-free environment welcoming of the whole individual.

I consider it a great privilege to support others as they explore their inner worlds and value counseling that incorporates compassion and inclusivity. My approach to therapy is informed by my background in Eastern medicine, which taught me to see the individual as a connected entity to their environment, while addressing mind, body & spirit. If you’d like to take the first steps into therapy, or are looking for something new in your journey, I’d be delighted to meet you.
